Privacy Policy

The Boulevard of Chicago is committed to protecting the privacy of its members, volunteers, staff and donors. Except as provided below with appropriate permissions, we do not sell, rent, lend, trade or otherwise furnish our constituents’ names, addresses, phone numbers or other personal information to individuals, organizations or entities outside of the organization. All personal information we receive from and about clients, volunteers, staff and donors is strictly confidential. Personal information is only collected when you voluntarily submit it to us through our website, and email or telephone call, at a meeting or event, or in the process of making a donation. Organizational files are protected and are used for the sole purpose of administering information as it relates our programs and organization. We take your right to privacy very seriously and all data is stored in a password-protected database which is kept confidential.


Contact Information

We may ask for contact information such as your name, address, telephone number, email address, and contact preferences. This information may be used to respond to inquiries or questions, acknowledge donations, or to contact you in the future to share Boulevard news, send communications, invite you to upcoming events, and/or ask for support. Donors who wish to not be named in online and/or print publications should notify The Boulevard in writing that they wish to remain anonymous.


Financial Information

If you choose to donate to The Boulevard via this website, your credit card information will be used only for the one-time transaction through our secure online payment system. In the case of a recurring (i.e. monthly) donation or pledge, the information will be retained securely to process each recurring gift. The Boulevard does not otherwise retain credit card information or transmit credit card information to other parties. Donations made to The Boulevard through third party websites such as the Amazon Smile program or Facebook Fundraisers are processed by those websites, and funds are conveyed to The Boulevard in aggregate. In such instances, personal financial information is not disclosed to The Boulevard. The Boulevard will provide an acknowledgement of such gifts if a method of contacting each donor, such as an email address or mailing address, is provided to us by the third party website.


Tribute and Memorial Donations

If you would like to make a contribution in someone's memory, please provide the honoree's name and the name and mailing information for whomever you would like us to notify of your donation.  The Boulevard will then send the designated friend/relative a one-time letter.  

If you choose to honor a living person, please just provide the honoree's name and address so we can send them a one-time notification letter. The Boulevard securely stores all mailing information.


Publication of Images and Stories

From time to time, The Boulevard may publish photographs, video, names and/or select story-related information of and about participants in our programs in its printed and digital newsletters, educational materials, in its annual report to the community, on its website, on digital social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube, and/or in connection with media requests and news releases. This information will be published and provided only with the prior written permission of the participants, their parents or guardians, as applicable.


Client Information

The Boulevard respects client confidentiality and only releases confidential client information (e.g. protected health information, client records) with signed consent in order to effectively provide care and/or in accordance with Illinois and federal law. Client records are maintained and disposed of in a manner that protects privacy and confidentiality. All of our programs have procedures in place to ensure client privacy. All clients are notified of their privacy rights upon admission.


Use of “Cookies”

Our site may use cookies to enhance your experience while using our site.
